1. Job Shadows

Description:
Provide students with an inside look at your workplace and career.

Commitment:
A half day or a full day.
2. Networking Nights, Industry Panels, and Workshops
·
Description:
Share your expertise or connect with students and alumni at these one-time events.
·
Commitment:
2–3 hours per event.
3. Sponsor an Intern
·
Description:
Offer hands-on experiences through internships, ranging from short-term to semester-long commitments.

Commitment:
o
Micro-Internships: 20–40 hours.
o
Semester-Long Internships: 120–150 hours for credit; non-credit internships offer flexibility.
o
Nursing Preceptor for Senior Nursing Students throughout a semester.
4. Become a Mentor for ASPIRE Small Groups

Description:
Guide students as they navigate their academic and professional journeys, meeting regularly throughout the year.

Commitment:
Yearlong, with monthly meetings.
5. Informational Interviews
·
Description:
Meet with students for focused conversations about your career path, industry insights, and advice.

Commitment:
30–60 minutes per interview.
6. Industry/Role Exploration
·
Description:
Engage in ongoing discussions with students about your role, industry trends, and career paths.

Commitment:
Flexible, based on the needs of alumni and students.
7. Classroom, Club, and Organization Guest Speaker

Description:
Share your knowledge and experiences as a guest speaker at events hosted by student groups or academic classes.

Commitment:
1–2 hours per session.
8. Department Liaison
·
Description:
Serve as a key contact for a specific department, helping with educational planning, career advice, and connecting students with professional opportunities.

Commitment:
Time varies based on department needs.
9. Supporting Other Opportunities (Classroom Projects, Case Studies, etc.)

Description:
Contribute to unique projects and initiatives that support student learning and development.

Flexible, based on the nature of the opportunity.
10. Serve on the Alumni Advisory Council
Description:
Assist the Alumni Engagement Office with programming and events for alumni both on and off campus
Commitment:
Quarterly meetings with monthly check ins
